On February 26, 2017, Jesse Bright was arrested by police in Wilmington. Under Bright’s view he was taking the passenger to retrieve the check and return it to its original location. [1] Bright and his passenger were charged with leaving a drug facility or possession of drugs.

A message is being circulated on Facebook (with typos) that makes it look like he’s a fugitive who gets away with not doing anything illegal. He thought it was picked up in the comments section.

On Thursday, Jan. 24, Bright’s girlfriend pressed the record button while they were at the Wilmington University Commons Mall.
“My friends and my girlfriend came to the pool house,” Bright said. “The first time we drove, a guy and a girl standing in a parking lot came up to us. They asked if we had a problem standing there, and we said, ‘ No.’ “It’s amazing.
Bright and his friends returned to the pool house. They came out after 20 minutes to find the same group of people watching them. This group drove them in an SUV.

“I was just holding my phone, recording one of the guys walking up, and then he hit my hand so hard that my phone flew out into the parking lot,” Flake said.
As the video plays, you can hear the words change between pages. The passers-by told Bright that he had bad things to say, that Bright and his friends should go home and that they didn’t want to get into a car fight.
“Then a guy hit me in the face in one move and knocked me to the ground,” Bright said. “I couldn’t move, he jumped on top of me. Then I fought with him for a few minutes.

“After he got off, I went and got my phone,” Flake said. “He was defenseless. I thought it would be useless and bad to hold the camera, but I realized when it happened, he wanted me to record it.
After the altercation, witnesses called the police and Bright was taken to the hospital with facial injuries.
“I’m glad I got the video. Without it, the person who attacked me could say I went to him,” said Bright. “I don’t think we have a place for that in society. I want to see them caught and punished.
