You can get scholarships for a variety of reasons—GPA, residency status, achievements, and more. Find out which you qualify for and apply.

You can search for scholarships in your ASU college, school or academic department. Scholarship sizes and eligibility requirements vary, and awards are generally only given to students pursuing a degree in a specific academic program.

ASU offers the New American University Transfer Scholarship to non-Arizona residents who meet high academic standards and have financial need. Students must apply and complete the FAFSA by January 1 or by October 1 for spring priority.

Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid each year to find out how much federal aid (grants, work-study, loans) you may receive. Generally, the FAFSA is available on October 1 each year; However, due to FAFSA updates, it is expected that the 2024-2025 2018 FAFSA will be available in December 2023 (not October). You must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements. If you don’t fit into one of these categories, you risk losing aid

If you do not meet SAP requirements, you will receive notification from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarship Services. Once you receive notification from the Financial Aid Office, you will be given the opportunity to file an appeal.

You must complete the SAP appeal form and submit it to the Financial Aid Office. Then, work with your academic advisor to develop an academic plan to get back on track and meet the SAP requirements. You will need to submit a statement to show how you are overcoming the problems that have thwarted you in the past and that you are taking positive steps to change.

If your appeal is approved by Financial Aid and Scholarship Services, you will be on probation and eligible for financial aid. If you improve enough during the exam to meet the SAP requirements, you will still be eligible for financial aid. Failure to meet SAP requirements may result in loss of eligibility.
