We work on “less paper” in our office, so Community Force has helped us keep everything in one place. Scholars United is an amazing resource with their videos, and the support is amazing. I contacted them in an absolute panic a few days ago, and they are always helpful and efficient. I couldn’t ask for better service! They always explain things in the simplest way possible and provide screenshots to show me what I need to know. A + service!

Easy to use! I enjoy creating sections for my applications because it is very self-directed and easy to understand. With minimal issues, I have created several scholarships and scholarship applications, and each one is customizable with many options! We also enjoy learning all the new features that we can use over time. It’s nice to know that if I put something in CF it will work. One thing we can explore in the future is blind applications.

What I like the least are the limitations on reports that can be run from the system. There is a built-in AdHoc Reports feature, but it is limited to Excel. I would like there to be multiple ways to run the reports – mainly Microsoft Word or Publisher. Our issue is that we have essays with some of our scholarships, and fitting an essay box on an Excel spreadsheet while still trying to make it user-friendly is not possible! I would like to see reports where every qualified student can have all the necessary information on one page of a report. If there are 15 students who qualify, there would be 15 pages, one for each student, in the report. Easier to read than an Excel spreadsheet that scrolls and scrolls.

We’ve been a CommunityForce customer for just over a year. Before making the switch to the CommunityForce solution, we used a home-grown custom solution to support 6 individual scholarship programs. As with many homegrown systems, it has reached a point where it is no longer feasible for us to support it. But most importantly, we have finally come to the realization as an organization that we are not in the business of software developers. Our goal is our mission, which provides women with educational opportunities. After an exhaustive search, we decided on the CommunityForce solution. It is a decision that we are lucky to be remembered every day as the right one. As you can imagine coming from a custom solution tailored around our business processes, there were several facets of the system unique to our organization. These facets are embedded in our operating policy, which has been turned into requirements for CommunityForce. CommunityForce stepped up to the plate and in short order added functionality to their solution to accommodate our uniqueness. So far, they have continued to step up to offer solutions vs. Barriers to our requests present. As with any new technology implementation, there are always challenges, but the CommunityForce team has always been and remains there to help us overcome them. Due to their implementation approach and intuitiveness of the solution, we are fully capable of building additional application workflows with the support of the CommunityForce team as needed. I think the best way to sum up our experience with CommunityForce so far is to say this. While we are fully aware that CommunityForce has hundreds of customers like ourselves, we feel like we are their only customer. We are fully committed to being a customer for life!

Support team. Ease of use. Cost to operate compared to the previous solution. Road map for the future.

Kevin, thank you so much for this review! Our team here at CommunityForce is honored to have P.E.O International as a dedicated client! We look forward to many years of partnership! Answered March 2017

Project And Research Management

We found that our users of our scholarship platform found the software easy to input information and that the technology requirements were not overwhelming. In addition, we found that as we learned the system, we, as administrators, found it easier to work with. If you have strong skills in technology, you will love the autonomy of this system.

It is not always easy to go into the system to clone the application and then make the necessary changes in the new application. It took a lot of studying and a lot of watching videos to figure out the best way to proceed. In all honesty, this was a self-service platform and one had to become very adept at the technology required to fully implement the application platform. In addition, it is not possible to open, release and track multiple applications simultaneously and easily, which was a requirement for our college savings account application. By tracking, there is no way to develop student profiles and link email communications directly to the student over a long period of time.

Thanks for the fantastic comments Joyce! If you have any suggestions or feature requests, please let us know. Submit your thoughts in our customer support portal! Answered April 2019

Time management through the implementation and use of scholarship management software is phenomenal. The ability to package and send applications to reviewers within 24 hours of application deadlines is incredible. We can accept applications for a period of 3-4 months. Then package, send to reviewers, record and distribute everything in a very short time frame (2 weeks) that would have taken 30 days or more. Electronic documentation of an impartial and blind review process is simple and effective.

School / College Management Software Service

We found the integration of the Scholarship Management software super easy to use and implement with our applicants. Having one too many applications allows applicants to apply for multiple scholarships to account for the total number of applicants. Plus the software allowed us to customize questions, outline donor-specific criteria for each scholarship, streamline recommendation letters with specific questions, and the ability to upload supporting documents.

The most challenging aspect is that we are in the system with grants and scholarship management sporadically throughout the year. We implemented the software at a time when Community Force launched the new platform, so our training was originally on the old platform. Additional training was and is available however, with step by step written instructions works best for us. If you have an overall knowledge of how the system works, keeping up with online support with program changes is essential. Our only other challenge is the inability to call and speak to support directly. We have found that articulating the challenge through e-mail or communication threads does not provide a solution quickly enough. The support is generally great.

Customer service responds incredibly quickly. Users log the issue through the Zen Desk and an email is sent almost immediately for initial troubleshooting, and a tech representative follows up with step-by-step assistance. Community Force’s customer service is a very strong asset.

Having the ability to set up a scholarship program with over 130 scholarships with varied criteria was a huge advantage. We can have a common application that matches the student information to the criteria of each scholarship fund. The program tracks scholarship amounts each year, has the ability for students to accept their scholarship through the same application, and we can communicate with students throughout the program with notifications about upcoming deadlines and other vital information. The common application can also be cloned and updated each year, so that a new application is not created from scratch each year. Remove barriers and reach the right applicants with a system designed to streamline the scholarship application process. Each student receives a time-saving personalized view of scholarships that match their qualifications.
