Cmu Transfer Scholarships – Central Methodist University has introduced a new formal learning opportunity for community college students looking to complete their four-year degree.
The Rita Gulstad Transfer Scholarship, available since January, is one of the largest private institutions offering scholarships to area college students, according to CMU President Roger Drake. Applications are accepted for both January and autumn 2018.

The scholarship is awarded to Dr. Rita Gulstad, CMU’s provost, who has been instrumental in building and establishing partnerships with every community college in Missouri and many others for many years.

“The Gulstad Transfer Scholarship provides a pathway to an excellent education and fulfilling life for students pursuing an associate’s degree at a partner institution,” Drake said. “The scholarship is named in honor of an outstanding CMU faculty member who did so much to provide graduate opportunities for students at local colleges.”
The center will provide qualifying college transfers of $16,000 per year, for a total of $48,000 over six semesters, to eligible students selected annually.

Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled at one of CMU’s partner colleges, be a sophomore expected to graduate from a community college, and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

They must also have a recommendation from a community college representative and meet the housing policy guidelines in the CMU Student Handbook.
CMU’s partner colleges for eligible students (including those in their respective departments) include Cottee College (Nevada), Crowder College (Neosho), East Central College (Union), Jefferson College (Hillsboro and Arnold), Capital College (Kansas). City), Mineral Area College (Park Hills), Moberly Area Community College (Moberly), North Central Missouri College (Trenton), Ozarks Technical College (Springfield), St. Charles Community College (St. Charles), St. (St. Louis), St. Louis Community College (St. Louis), State Fair Community College (Sedalia), State Technical College of Missouri (Linn), Three Rivers College (Poplar Bluff) and Johnson County Community College (Overland Park). Study abroad scholarships are available to give you a rewarding and life-changing experience abroad. Thanks to generous donors, scholarships are available for a wide range of activities that promote a better knowledge of foreign languages and their people, countries and cultures.

These courses should be used during college. High school students who will be enrolled twice during the scholarship year are not eligible. If you transfer to another college or university, tuition dollars do not carry over with you.
Central Michigan University
This is a tuition-based scholarship for high school graduates. Up to 20 full-ride scholarships are awarded each academic year.
Most scholarships are worth $1,000 ($500 for the fall semester and $500 for the winter semester) if you are a full-time student. There are several unique scholarships available through the same application process. For example, Honors Program scholarships are awarded to many honors students each year. Honors scholarships range from $600 per semester to $1,000 per semester (fall and winter) if you are a full-time student. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and has no financial requirements. To apply for these scholarships, students must apply and be accepted into the Honors Program.
Another great opportunity is the Business and Information Technology Scholarship, worth $1,250 per semester ($2,500 per year) if you are a full-time student.
The Dream Possible College Program provides cultural and educational opportunities to eligible middle and high school students with the goal of encouraging high school graduation and college attendance. This is a special scholarship available only to Dream Possible students.
Pair Awarded Gulstad Transfer Scholarships
This scholarship is worth $4,000 ($2,000 for the first year of college and another $2,000 for the second year of college).
The Nickless Family Scholarship is for students pursuing their education at a four-year college or university in Michigan. Two students will receive a $6,000 scholarship ($3,000 each for the fall and winter semesters). Fellows are eligible to receive the scholarship for two consecutive years and will compete each year.

This award can be used to pay for tuition, books and fees. Scholarships will be awarded to students who may or may not have financial need and will go directly to your four-year college or university. The dollars will not be credited directly to the student.

In addition to applying for a College Foundation scholarship, you will need to apply for other financial aid. The biggest step you can take is to apply for federal financial aid. You can do this by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The FAFSA application can be found online. When prompted on the form, be sure to include the college’s school code (002251). This will send the information and allow us to create a finance package for you.
Most students will need financial and income information from their parents, but it is worth the time and effort to research. There is a high probability that you will not make it. And the best news is that you can get federal aid through the Pell Grant program, IN ADDITION to any other tuition dollars you qualify for.
Finally, there are some scholarships that require you to complete the FAFSA first. So, get started and fill out your information!
